If you're looking for something fresh and new... go away. Wrong book. If you're looking for a good book... sit down. Read.Snatchers doesn't bring anything new to the zombie franchise, I'll get that out there right now. Pretty much everything that happens in the book, you've seen in the Walking Dead, 28 Days Later, etc. Most of the characters are pretty stock or generic, and the plot twists are more like gentle plot curves.
What the author does do is take everything that you already know from zombie horror and bring it to life with engaging dialogue, realistic interactions between people, and an unflinching willingness to show what would actually happen. Small children do not magically walk out of horrifying conditions unscathed, terrible things happen to everyone without discrimination... It's basically like real life; s*** happens and Murphy's Law reigns supreme. For once I was actually able to connect with a character, which doesn't happen often. The writing is engaging and leaves you hanging on every word, which ultimately is the best measure of a book's quality.

Snatchers Volume One The Zombie Apocalypse Series Box SetBooks 13 eBook Shaun Whittington Reviews
Good book, looking forward to reading the sequel. Talented writer who does a good job developing a story and keeping you entertained.
this is the best there is !!!!!!! this series could be on television and do better than the walking dead ! ABSOLUTELY VERY WELL WRITTEN
im enjoying the story but Shaun definitely needs an editor. lots of characters to keep up with but he actually makes that work fairly well.
Well written, great characters and plenty of action! If you love this genre, don't pass this one up. Shaun Whittington is a force to be reckoned with in the zombie apocalypse story!
If I could give zero stars, I would. This book is poorly written and/or poorly edited. There are some passages that make absolutely no sense. I got through 4 chapters and had to stop reading. I paid $0.00 for the first 3 chapters in this series and that is exactly what they are worth. I love science fiction, fantasy and horror so it is not the premise that stinks, just the way things are presented. I was hoping for a rousing zombie book and am very disappointed. I can't read anymore of this tripe. I know others gave this book better reviews, I am just not sure they read the same book that I did.
Always desperate for a great series. And this one so far has not disappointed me. Bought the next box set of three before I finished this one. I'm in the US and hesitated because the author is from England. Now I feel like I visited their countryside. A countryside filled with friendships, bad guys and zombies. Highly recommend.
I really liked this book, even though for me it was hard to read..in America we call the ground, the ground but in England it's the floor,a closet is a cupboard, and there are other words that are quite different but the story is a good one..and I liked the characters.
If you're looking for something fresh and new... go away. Wrong book. If you're looking for a good book... sit down. Read.
